  3. First-Time User Guide: Finding Your First Lead

Let's walk through finding and acting on your first opportunity in Speaker Drive. No need to learn every feature right now—we'll focus on the essentials to get you started.

Starting Your Search

When you land on the Find Leads page, you'll see three main options at the top:

  • All: Shows you everything
  • Contacts: Decision-makers who can book you
  • Events: Conferences, summits, and other speaking opportunities

Start with "All" to get a feel for what's out there. You'll see a search bar where you can type in anything—try your industry, topic area, or even a conference you're interested in.

Using Filters (Without Getting Overwhelmed)

On the left side of your screen, you'll see several filter options. For now, focus on these key ones:

  • Unlock Types: This shows you how you can reach out
    • Contact Emails: Direct lines to decision-makers
    • Event Emails: Ways to reach event organizers
    • Event URLs: Links to speaker applications
  • Event Format: Choose what type of speaking you're looking for (conferences, workshops, etc.)
  • Location: Narrow down by region or go worldwide

Don't worry about using every filter—just pick one or two that matter most to you right now.

Reading the Lead List

Each lead in your list shows you the key details at a glance:

  • The event or contact name
  • The organization
  • The event topic or person's role
  • Location
  • How you can reach out (shown by those little email and link icons)

Taking Action on a Lead

Found something interesting? Here's what to do:

  1. Click on the lead to see the full details
  2. Look at the "At A Glance" section to quickly understand the opportunity
  3. Check out the "Fee Potential" and "Business Potential" to gauge the value
  4. Hit the "Unlock Email" or "Unlock URL" button in the top right
  5. Once unlocked, click "Generate Outreach" to craft your message

Quick Tips for Your First Search

  • Generating a few different outreach messages to see what the AI creates
